Pupil Premium Information
At St Martin at Shouldham Primary Academy we strongly believe that all children have the right to an excellent education underpinned by outstanding quality teaching with high expectations. On that basis we are determined to ensure that our children are given every chance to realise their full potential. The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding provided by the Department for Education to enhance the education of social-economically disadvantaged pupils (namely those pupils entitled, or previously entitled, to free school meals (FSM), Looked After Children (LAC) or adopted from care).
Schools are free to decide on how best to allocate the funds for programmes to support its disadvantaged pupils.
The amount allocated for the 2024-2025 academic year is £19,240.
The Pupil Premium provision is planned in an integrated and targeted manner for this academic year to ensure that those pupils entitled to the Pupil Premium receive additional support to address the identified barriers.
The next review date for the strategy will be:
16th September 2025.
Sports Premium
Following the success of the London 2012 Olympics the government has agreed to fund primary schools for the next ten years to provide a lasting legacy from the games and develop children’s enjoyment of sport and physical activity from an early age.
At St Martin at Shouldham Primary Academy, we recognise the contribution of PE and sport to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children. Our Primary School PE and Sport’s Funding will enable us to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals, entering into more competitive sports competitions and training our staff to deliver in-house quality PE sessions.
•develop or add to the PE and sport activities that our school already offers.
•build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.
The premium must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, in the 2024 to 2025 academic year, to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.
The amount allocated to St Martin at Shouldham Primary Academy 2024/2025 = £17,380 (paid in two lump sums)
